Developing Your Show Concept
So you’ve got an idea for a show, but aren’t sure how to build a story and series concept that you really love? Do you want to explore your ideas with in a supportive environment? This circle might be for you!
In this circle, we will help you:
- Find your characters’ voices.
- Examine characters’ emotional journey and how the stories reflect their journey.
- Explore the emotional depth of your stories–TV doesn’t have to just make us laugh, we’ll also look at how sad or scary a story can go.
- Build families and characters that reflect today’s world.
- Create stories with twists that surprise and engage.
Ideally you have an idea for an animated children’s series, written down (a few pages). While this is not absolutely required, we may not have time to workshop new ideas.
We will cover some production/business basics but the focus is on the ideas, characters and the creative story elements. No artwork is needed but if you have it – we can definitely discuss. Music is another key creative element but not my strength but we can discuss that too. A few sessions will be open for the group to decide what areas are of interest as well.
