APPLICATION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS
APPLICATION
Student Clubs applications will open Sept 21st and run through October 14th 2022.
Below are some of the basic requirements for a WIA Student Club.
1. STUDENT MEMBERS
Recruit at least 10 students as club members. Your club should be open to all people with a foucs on supporting women (cis and transgender) and nonbinary students. These Student Club members are not required to be active WIA Global members but will need to become a member if they want to participate in WIA Global Membership Exclusive events, apply for WIA scholarships, or participate in the WIA Mentoring Program.
2. ELECTING OFFICERS
Among all student members, student leaders/officers are selected. The positions include but are not limited to:
- Lead (Main Point of Contact)
- Co-Lead
- Community Building Manager – Optional
- Talent Development/Event Manager – Optional
3. FACULTY ADVISOR
If required by your school, find a faculty advisor to oversee the student club for the current academic year.
4. SCHOOL BYLAWS
If required by your school, make sure this club is recognized by the school as an official student club with clear bylaws.
5. CLEAR GOALS AND PLANNING
Define the club goals and plans for events and activities while keeping 50/50 by 2025 in mind.
RENEWALS
To renew, the WIA student club must be in good standing for all the steps outlined above to renew the status for future academic years.
