Director, Diversity & Inclusion, Recruitment and Engagement

Sonia Bhatia (she, her) is the Director, Diversity & Inclusion, Recruitment and Engagement at Sony Pictures Imageworks, responsible for helping to create a more inclusive workplace and keeping our employees engaged and connected in a changing work environment.

With over a decade of experience working with equity groups, Sonia is driving the D&I strategy, collaborating with global D&I offices, and ensuring programs are tailored for local adoption.

As a woman of colour, Sonia’s journey in diversity and inclusion started at birth. She feels that it is her duty to do this work and it is her calling.

Sonia respectfully acknowledges that she lives and works on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations.

Sonia is first generation Canadian, daughter to Immigrant parents from Punjab, India. She endeavors in her work with gratitude and humility for continued tolerance as a settler to this land.
