Chen Zhang
Hi, I’m Chen Zhang, a 3D artist in the animation industry. My academic background includes an MFA in 3D Animation and Visual Effects with a specific focus on 3D modeling from the Academy of Art University.
I started my CG journey as an animator but soon discovered my true passion and talent in 3D modeling, prompting a career shift. This path has had its share of challenges, but it is my passion, and I love this industry and will continue to pursue it with dedication.
My career highlights include an internship at Blue Sky Studios on “Spies in Disguise,” “Luca,” and “Lightyear” at Pixar,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” at Sony Pictures Imageworks, and “Moana 2” at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Currently, I’m a Senior Organic Modeler at Bardel Entertainment Inc. Outside of work, I have a particular passion for learning digital sculpting and practicing my sculpting skills to create my own characters.
I’m excited to share my knowledge and experiences over different studios through this mentorship circle, helping you break into the 3D animation field as a 3D modeler. Let’s work together to build your skills and achieve your career goals.
