- Money matters – preparing for layoffs and downturns, planning for future you
- Physical health – staying strong and active, avoiding illness or injury
- Mental health – self-care to avoid anxiety, depression, & burnout Â
- Career complications – identifying and combatting bias, being a good ally, building your circle of support
- Industry shifts – change is the only constant, staying current and knowing when to change course
This circle will combine group discussion with guest speakers to help mentees gain perspective, new knowledge, and a plan to handle inevitable career challenges.

Circle Leader
Tara Donovan
I’m an Animation Supervisor with extensive experience in animation and leadership in feature and episodic VFX. Since graduating from Sheridan College’s Classical Animation program I started my career working for Richard Williams and spent several years in hand-drawn animation before making the leap into computer animation, first in kid’s TV, commercials, and finally VFX. For the past several years, I’ve helped deliver high-end, photo-real VFX for some of the top VFX studios on projects with a wide variety of mandates: realistic creatures, famous actors’ face replacements, digi-doubles escaping in vehicles, flying around in complex props and scary monsters running amok. As a Supervisor, I seek out fresh creative ideas from my diverse teams, quickly adapting to new techniques and tools to deliver top-quality animation. My interests in powerlifting and gymnastics add a deeper understanding of anatomy, movement, weight, and timing that informs my animation. I’m eager to continue collaborating with talented artists to craft believable creatures and characters, no matter what the medium.
