MEMBERSHIP FAQS

How to become a WIA Member

Head to the Join page, select your desired membership level and follow the instructions all the way to checkout.

How to Change Membership Levels

  1. Navigate to your Account > (From the Menu bar) Membership > MY WIA Membership
  2. Select the “view” button of your active/expired membership
  3. Scroll to the “Subscription Totals” section
  4. Select “Change Membership Level”
  5. Select the membership level you would like to change to, select ADD TO ORDER, then proceed through the payment process.

Changing membership levels RESTARTS your membership year to the purchase date; it does not extend your membership one calendar year.

How to Renew Membership Early

If you purchased a one-year non-renewing membership, you will have to wait until it lapses or upgrade to a renewing membership for early renewal.

  1. Head to Womeninanimation.org and navigate to our  Sign In page.
  2. From the My Account menu, go to Membership > MY WIA Membership and click “View” next to your active membership/subscription.
  3. In the “Actions” box, select the “Renew Now” button

Renewing your membership early within the same membership level (Creator to Creator) will extend your membership one calendar year from your original expiration date.

How to Resubscribe to a Canceled or Expired Membership

If you purchased a one-year non-renewing membership, you will have to wait until it lapses or upgrade to a renewing membership for early renewal.

  1. Head to Womeninanimation.org and navigate to our  Sign In page.
  2. From the My Account menu, go to Membership > MY WIA Membership and click “View” next to your active membership/subscription.
  3. In the “Actions” box, select the “Resubscribe” button

Resubscribing to your membership will start your membership one calendar year from your new purchase date.

How to cancel a Membership

If you purchased a one-year non-renewing membership, you will have to wait until it lapses. Your membership will not renew, regardless.

  1. Head to Womeninanimation.org and navigate to our  Sign In page.
  2. From the My Account menu, go to Membership > MY WIA Membership and click “View” next to your active membership/subscription.
  3. In the “Actions” box, select the “Cancel” button

Canceling: WIA Members can cancel their membership from the website. Please note that canceling your membership immediately ends your benefits when you confirm cancellation. This action is not reversible. You can turn off auto-renew as an option and allow the membership to expire when the date arrives. WIA can’t change memberships or delete accounts on behalf of a member.

How to redeem a coupon code

  1. During the checkout process, make sure to select “Add to order” to apply the membership item to your cart.
  2. Select the box stating, “Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code”.
  3. Enter the code into the box and select “APPLY”
  4. Please confirm that the price has dropped to the appropriate amount. If it does not change, you will be charged the full amount.

How to delete your account

Deleting your WIA Account is a permanent action and can’t be undone. WIA doesn’t delete accounts on behalf of the member, and the ability to do so is available to you! If you’re sure you would like to delete your account instead of turning off auto-renew or canceling your membership, please access the link below and follow the instructions.

  • Sign in to your WIA Account
  • Hover over the Membership header > Select Delete My Account
  • Follow the instructions and confirm your account deletion. This action is not reversible.

Can I gift a membership?

At this time WIA doesn’t have a system to gift a membership from one individual to another. We hope to have this available soon.

Educational Institutions, Studios, and Businesses may purchase memberships in bulk. For this please reach out to wia@womeninanimation.org

Can I get a refund?

WIA memberships are non-refundable. WIA memberships are benefits included with a donation to the organization and donations are non-refundable. This includes cases of: not getting accepted into a Mentorship Circle, not being selected for the WIA Scholarship Program, being gifted a WIA membership after paying for one, etc. Memberships are only refundable for technical errors on the WIA side, meaning we can verify and have documentation of an error we caused.

We’re empathetic to your situation and hope you can continue finding value in your WIA Membership throughout the next year. WIA sends out membership renewal reminders at least a week before the membership expires so our members can either turn off auto-renew or know when their membership benefits end.

If you believe your membership was renewed due to a technical error on the WIA side, please submit a support ticket.
