Julie Stuart

Co-Lead Events – WIA Vancouver

Julie Stuart is an award-winning, Vancouver-based creator, showrunner, executive producer, story editor, writer, and entrepreneur who co-founded Team Stewart Entertainment with her husband to create superior content for kids. She focuses on 3D, 2D and stop motion animated programs focused on the age groups of 3 to 5, 4 to 7, 6 to 9, and 6 to 11.

Julie graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Honors Program at Rutgers College at Rutgers University, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in Spanish. After graduation, Julie taught elementary school before beginning her entrepreneurial career in 2001 when she and her husband started Gecko Kids, a creative computer school. Here, Julie taught over one thousand children between the ages of 3 and 12. This honed her ability to teach children high-level concepts, discover what is truly engaging and funny to children of all ages, create state-of-the art technical, and creative curriculum and market and sell to parents.

Since then, Julie has worked on producing 2 seasons of Sesame Workshop’s series, Abby’s Flying Fairy School (the show won an Emmy for outstanding individual achievement and two Kidscreen Awards, one for Best Animated Series and the other for Best Preschool Program in 2012). She’s also created contracted shows for Fremantle Kids & Media, DisneyJr, WildBrain, Boat Rocker, Isle of Misfits, Epic Story, Kickstart, Bix Pix Entertainment, and Nelvana (among others) that air on channels globally such as DisneyJr, Netflix, CBeebies, Family Channel, Family Jr, SuperRTL, and CCTV.
