In this circle, we’ll dive deep into the dynamic landscape of career evolution, strategic pivoting, and the art of being constantly prepared for new opportunities. We’ll discuss how to proactively manage your career instead of just crossing your fingers and hoping the right opportunity comes your way. Whether you’re considering a pivot or simply want to enhance your career strategy, this circle provides a supportive space for growth and development.

Circle Leader

Liane Dietz
Liane Dietz is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in animation. She began her career at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where she started in casting before moving into an Assistant Production Manager role in the Clean-Up department for Hercules. She went on to work on Dinosaur and Home on the Range.
After leaving Disney, Liane joined DreamWorks Animation to work on the CG animated series Father of the Pride. She returned to Disney as an Associate Producer in the Creative Legacy department, where she supported various projects for Walt Disney Imagineering. Her work included creating media for theme park attractions such as water, castle, and building projection shows, as well as contributing to rides like the Frozen ride, Peter Pan in Tokyo, and the Zootopia attraction in Shanghai. She also worked on animation for marketing, television, educational videos, and stage shows and co-produced three Goofy shorts for Disney+.
After 26 years at Disney, Liane transitioned to Netflix Animation, where she became Director/Production Management, CAPS. In this role, she helped build the Creative and Production Solutions team (CAPS), which supported over 30 animated features and series.
Most recently, Liane worked as an Associate Producer at Paramount Animation on an upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles project.
Liane is deeply involved in mentorship, having participated in programs like Rise Up Animation, Disney, and Netflix’s mentorship initiatives. She’s also happily returning for her second year as a mentor with the WIA program.
Outside of her career, Liane is a proud mother of two daughters. Her family also includes her husband, a cat named Dennis the Menace, and a lizard named Stumpy. In her downtime, she enjoys singing, baking, and watching HGTV. Liane’s extensive career and ongoing contributions to the animation industry reflect her passion and dedication to storytelling through animation.
