CIRCLE DESCRIPTION
If you’re looking to break into the animation industry, you’re going to have to get good at collaborating. Collaboration is the bread and butter of animation. Every project is created by teams of people working together who are committed to making something great.
If you want to hone your collaboration skills, learn more about your fellow creatives, and create something with a team, then this circle is for you.
You’ll be collaborating with each other every week and bringing your skills to the table. By the end of the circle, you’ll be switching up roles and taking on positions that you might not normally take. A writer might end up as an animator. A designer as a director, etc. Together, we’ll make an animated short that proves you’ve learned how to work together effectively. Through this circle, you’ll gain an understanding and appreciation for the animation pipeline, learn how to problem-solve as a team and realize why collaboration is the bedrock of any animated show.
I’m a writer and songwriter who is constantly working with other people. As an INFJ extroverted introvert, that can be difficult for me, which is why I want to help people get over their fear of collaboration to unlock the creative potential that collaboration can bring! As a multi-disciplinary artist who has worked in development and production, I hope my understanding of the animation industry can help you to become a better collaborator so that you can succeed in your next job.
This collaboration-intensive circle is perfect for experienced students, aspiring professionals, and entry-level workers who want to perfect their collaborative skills! We want a well-rounded group of writers (samples for kids and adults okay), directors, producers, composers/songwriters, editors, and artists (2d preferred) who are excited about working together to create new content (you must already have experience in your discipline to join this circle). Hopefully, you will leave this circle feeling confident about your honed collaborative skills and ready to apply them in your next job!
