CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

This circle is for CG animators who want to hone their shot work so they can take on more, get additional opportunities, and most importantly, build beautiful shots without the pain.

We’ll discuss the right workflow to use, ways to become more productive, ways to become more versatile, and how to push yourself out of your comfort zone so you can get on to your dream projects.

Gabriele Ranfagni

I’m a veteran of the animation industry and passionate about music (I play tambourine drums and tom drums) and judo. I specialized in anatomy, creature, fantasy, and Nordic mythology, which is really useful in VFX!

My career began in 1995 in Italy as a 2D animator. I worked as a storyboard artist, character designer, layout artist, background artist, stop motion animator, rigger, and now 3d animator. I’ve also worked as an animation and life drawing mentor since 2004 for many studios and organizations.

Passionate about software (I began to program in Basic at the age of 8 with a Vic 20), in 2010, I found CGI to be the perfect art form to express myself the best.

I’m looking for interesting projects in an environment that prioritizes quality, where I can use all my artistic potential.

I have extensive experience leading teams and have taught animation, gesture drawing, and animal and human anatomy for several years. I regularly upload new tutorials about animation workflow on my YouTube channel.

In my free time, I explore new animation tools and new fields of animation production, such as lighting, shading, texturing, grooming, rigging, and muscle and skin simulation (Ziva).
