CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

It’s been a few years since you got your first job in animation. You’re enjoying the experience, but you know you want to do more, take a step, and make your mark… but maybe you’re not sure exactly what you want to do next or how to get started in another direction. You know that you want to expand your opportunities and job prospects in animation specifically, but you’re also curious about the greater professional creative community. This circle might be for you!

In this circle, we’ll be working with the understanding that sometimes, the most significant learnings and connections can come out of the most unexpected roles. Whether you aspire to go deeper in your current animation role by exploring other ways to use your creativity, or if you want to use your current place in animation to inspire a new venture, let’s talk about it and dig into the possibilities and pathways. In this circle, we will take a deeper look at your creative talents and experiences to understand ways to leverage your strengths and explore existing opportunities to build and grow your creative career. And, if it doesn’t exist — who says you can’t build it yourself?

By the end of this circle, you will:

  • Learn how to cultivate and grow your creative community, enhancing your network and collaborative opportunities
  • Develop a strong social and online presence
  • Engage in insightful discussions with professionals from diverse creative careers, gaining real-world perspectives and advice

Circle Leader

Anneliese Salgado

Anneliese Salgado is a creative producer, artist and educator with a background that intersects museum education, the entertainment industry, and fine art. She completed a BA in Studio Art at USC with a focus on drawing and painting, and an MA at Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she spent almost a decade as a Senior Teaching Artist in the city’s most esteemed museums (SFMOMA, deYoung Museum, Legion of Honor).

In 2015 she joined DreamWorks Animation in Education and Artistic Development, and in 2019 she joined (WIA) as an Events & Programming Lead. In 2020, she co-founded Sound + Vision Co., a creative production company that makes music videos and experiential events for major record labels, global brands, and internationally renowned artists. She has been the Associate Manager for Outreach at Walt Disney Animation Studios since 2022, strategizing and producing studio presence at industry film festivals and conferences in person and virtually for a global audience.

In her free time, you can find her out and about with her young toddler Olivia, drawing, painting, enjoying live music, snuggling with her two miniature dachshunds, or traveling as much as she possibly can!
