Donor Research Volunteer

Location: 100% remote
Minimum Commitment: 1-2 hours per week for at least 6 months; can be done outside of typical business hours
About the Role
We’re looking for a volunteer to add to our small but dedicated team to research current and prospective donors. A successful WIA volunteer is self-motivated, organized, inclusive, flexible, and responsible. They’ll thrive with a sense of humor, a passion for the mission, and good judgment.

Volunteer Responsibilities
- Research and document mission alignment between WIA and other organizations
- Identify and document connections between current partners and future prospects
- Locate and input basic, public information about current and prospective donorsÂ
- Locate and update donor contact information
- Write concise summaries with attachments to be used by the Executive Director and Development Director for fundraising purposes
Skills and experience
- Individual Contributor with extraordinary online resourcefulness
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Highly organized
- Working proficiency with the Airtable
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Great judgment and critical thinking
- Proactive problem-solver
- Full professional proficiency in English, written and verbal, is required
- Familiarity with Google suite
- Ability to use, or eager to learn, tools such as The Foundation Center, Guide Star, and/or Wealth Engine as well as other tools, software and applications as appropriate
- Top candidates for the role will
- have past research experience
- have a working understanding of the Animation, Visual Effects, or Gaming industry
- have a demonstrated interest in and passion for the WIA mission
