CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

There are so many different paths within the animation industry, and those can vary in different countries even more! With smaller resources or big budgets, we still need to work as part of a team. We’ll talk with some Latin American talents that have roles like Film Director, Producer, Supervisor, etc. From short films to full-length animated productions, we will learn the “how to” from different leadership perspectives.

In this mentorship circle, we’ll talk about things like:

  • Working with limited resources
  • Developing your own projects
  • Finding career opportunities

This circle is great for people who have 0 to 2 years of experience in the animation industry and for people who wish to develop their own projects.

Qualification Criteria

Aspiring Professional (0 yrs of experience)
Entry Level (1-2 yrs of experience)

Circle Leader

Alejandra Perez

Alejandra was born in Mexico City on 14 February 1981.

She is the director of the animated film Mi Amigo el Sol , which is currently in production. This project is being developed by Fotosíntesis Media, a studio focused on producing animated films that generate social impact.

Alejandra was one of the founding members of  MUMA (Mujeres En El Mundo De La Animacion), an association focused on empowering and promoting women in the animated industry in Latin America. 

She worked as a Storyboard Artist on different projects since 2015, mostly for features by Mexican studios like Anima Estudios and Huevocartoon.

She has a BFA in Computer Animation from Ringling College of Art and Design. Graduated in 2014.
