CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

This Circle focuses on the entire process of creating puppets for stop-motion animation.

Throughout the course, you will work on a personal project to explore and apply the discussed techniques and tips. We will discuss the production process from the initial idea to the final puppet. You will learn what to consider before starting and how to develop and make your puppet according to its specific requirements. We will explore various techniques and materials and choose the best ones for your project. Additionally, we will review your progress and suggest possible changes from one session to the next, with the goal of having a finished puppet ready for animation by the end of the course.

Circle Leader

Mariela Sartori

Mariela Sartori is a Puppet Maker for Stop Frame Animation and has over 7 years of industry experience.

She’s originally from stunning Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she’s been part of projects at Can Can Club and Tamandúa Studio. She’s been living in the UK for the past 5 years working at Aardman Animations studios in productions such as ‘Robin Robin’, ‘Shaun the Sheep The Flight Before Christmas’, ‘Chicken Run Dawn of The Nuggets’, and ‘Wallace & Gromit Vengeance Most Fowl ‘.

She’s passionate about making, and after browsing various art fields, she found her place in puppet making. There, she combines multiple disciplines to create unique puppets that come to life on screen.

She is eager to share this passion and empower makers by sharing her experiences within this special storytelling medium.
