Supervisor: Communications Manager

Type: Volunteer

Location: 100% remote

Minimum Commitment: 1-3 hours per week; must commit to at least 6 months of service; can be done outside of normal business hours

About the Role

We’re looking for a volunteer to add to our small but dedicated team to assist in the development of social media content that inspires and excites WIA community members, donors, and other stakeholders. A successful WIA volunteer is self-motivated, organized, inclusive, flexible, and responsible. They’ll thrive with a sense of humor, a passion for the mission, and good judgment.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Craft compelling social media content that supports WIA social media campaigns
• Search social media for relevant content to share on WIA social channels
• Identify relevant content from partner organizations
• Maintain regular communication with the WIA Communications Team to ensure deadlines are met, and campaigns are successfully completed and launched
• Stay on top of the latest animation trends on social media
• Data entry
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and experience

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Great judgment and critical thinking
• Highly organized
• Team player
• Working proficiency with the Google Suite
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• have demonstrated strong, proven content creation skills
• have the ability to write concise, engaging captions/posts that follow WIA voice and guidelines
• be able to identify and leverage current social media trends
• have a professional background, education, or demonstrated interest in Animation, Visual Effects, or Gaming
• be able to effectively connect their work with WIA’s mission
