CIRCLE DESCRIPTION
With the animation market diversifying, creators can now connect with audiences across social media, YouTube, SVODs, traditional TV, and gaming. This circle aims to explore various creative paths you can pursue in animation across multiple platforms.
This circle will be a hybrid approach:
- Interactive “coffee style” sessions where we will share early career experiences, celebrate accomplishments, and strategize over current challenges
- Moderated sessions with Q&A featuring Industry Experts who have worked at Moonbug Entertainment, Amazon, Electronic Arts, Guru Studio, Fablevision, and Disney
This circle is ideal for aspiring producers, directors, or creators in the early stages of their careers. It requires mentees to bring their questions, challenges, and conversation topics to each coffee style session to receive the best guidance on their next steps.
Additionally, we will learn from Industry Experts whose experience spans the fulsome animation pipeline across the following topics:
- Understanding the basics of producing successful animation projects
- Identifying key skills needed to direct 3D animated content
- Delving into the specifics of art direction in 2D animation
- Learning the art of pitching your creative ideas and projects effectively
- How to best develop mobile games and navigate the grant system
- Explore the integration of VFX, virtual production, and gaming technologies
- Finding strategies for building and growing your personal brand on social media platforms
- Gaining a basic understanding of AI’s impact on the creative industry and how to utilize it
- And more!

Emily Jenkins
Emily is an award-winning writer and director with expertise in live action and animation. Currently, she is a Creative Executive at Moonbug Entertainment, managing all aspects of CoComelon, the top children’s YouTube channel with over 165 million subscribers. Previously, she was Director of Development at Guru Studio, contributing to series like Pikwik Pack (Disney Jr), Big Blue (CBC), and Mecha Builders (HBOMax). Her live action work includes writing, co-directing, and starring in Terminally in Love (2018), which was selected for Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. Originally from Toronto, Emily now resides in Los Angeles.
