CIRCLE DESCRIPTION
Are you looking to get your start working in Animation, VFX or Games but have no idea where to start? Trying to get that first job as a PA or entry-level artist, or bridge the gap between school/training and the professional world? Would a few conversations with an experienced recruiter be helpful? Then this circle is for you!
In this circle, you will learn the essentials of what it takes to get started in the Animation, VFX, or Gaming industry. By the end of the term, you will:
- Understand the Different Pipelines—the different job positions in these careers, how you move through them, and what it takes to get the job doneÂ
- Know how to set yourself up to apply for and land jobs by creating strong LinkedIn profiles, resumes, thank you letters, portfolios, etc.
- You’ll also have a clear picture of how recruiting works and what the job application process is like
- Learn how to network and build your brand
- Learn about the industry in general, what to expect, being freelance vs. an FTE (full time employee), how to save, prepare and plan
