CIRCLE DESCRIPTION

Are you an animator who’s passionate about anime and looking to break into the industry, but not sure where to start?

This circle is perfect for newer animators who want to understand the unique process, pipeline, and style of anime and how it differs from Western animation. We’ll dive into the specific skills and approaches that set anime apart and guide you through what it takes to succeed in this exciting space.
In this circle, you’ll learn:

  • The fundamentals of the anime production pipeline and how it differs from Western animation processes
  • Key artistic and storytelling elements that define anime and how to apply them in your work
  • How to build a resume, cover letter, and demo reel that stands out to employers in the anime industry and beyond
  • Professional expectations and how to navigate the job market as a new animator

Important Note: Mentees should have access to their own animation software, as we’ll be working through practical exercises and discussing techniques that require hands-on practice.
