Location: 100% remote
Minimum Commitment: 5-10 hours per month (or 1-2 hours per week) for at least 6 months
About the Role
We’re looking for a volunteer to add to our small but dedicated team to help us gather, organize, and analyze basic data sets so we can make more informed decisions about our programs and activities in service to our mission. A successful WIA volunteer is self-motivated, organized, inclusive, flexible, and responsible. They’ll thrive with a sense of humor, a passion for the mission, and good judgment.

Volunteer Responsibilities
- Work with the WIA team to understand their analytic needs
- Analyze existing data sets to answer key questions for WIA
- Create and maintain visualizations of data
- Improve upon existing data acquisition practices where necessary
- Consult with WIA staff on best practices for data acquisition
- Support data acquisition efforts when needed
Skills and experience
- 2+ years mining data in a professional or education setting
- Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization
- Strong spreadsheets skills (Excel or Google Sheets) with aptitude for learning other analytics tools
- Strong experience in using Survey Monkey
- Great judgment and critical thinking
- Highly organized
- Team player
- Proficiency in English, written and verbal, is required
- Top candidates will have a demonstrated connection to WIA’s mission
