Supervisor: Events Manager

Type: Volunteer

Location: 100% remote

Minimum Commitment: 1-3 hours per week; must commit to at least 6 months of service

About the Role

We’re looking for a volunteer to add to our small but dedicated team to assist in the administrative aspects of planning and execution of various events. WIA events include panel discussions, networking events, screenings, and workshops, and aim to advance WIA’s mission to empower and support people of underrepresented genders in the art, science, and business of animation.

A successful WIA volunteer is self-motivated, organized, inclusive, flexible, and responsible. They’ll thrive with a sense of humor, a passion for the mission, and good judgment.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Update the WIA website Event Calendar with event details 
• Zoom Event Management, including 
  • Creating events
  • Recording report data
  • Downloading recordings 
• Provide speakers and participants with event details and address inquiries.
• Update post-event data tracking form
• Event Research

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Great judgment and critical thinking
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Team player
• Proactive problem-solver
• Working proficiency with 
  • Google Suite
  • Zoom 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information
• Full professional proficiency in English, written and verbal, is required
